Ha! 50 Aint What It Used To Be

When I turned 50, I had a few of my own  “Points Of Wisdom”  that I wanted to share and I did!  With everyone on Facebook. Well, everyone who “knows” me on Facebook.  Anyway, here they are…

INTRODUCTION:

That’s right I’m “50” and I truly thank God for keeping me in good health, good spirit, and with a sound and right mind. I still have a heart for love and for life and I plan to enjoy it until He calls me home. Truth be told, 50 ain’t what it used to be — it’s actually the new “30.”   So there!

Point 1:  Life is and means nothing without a personal relationship with God. Stop being afraid to accept Him into your life. What do you think He’s going to do, make it worse?

Point 2: Material things can be lost, stolen or taken away. Don’t make them the essence of who you are or what you want to be.

Point 3: I have lived in apartments, town homes and single family homes.  Each  time I moved, the new place was called home.

Point 4: It’s okay to posses money, just don’t let it possess you. Some of us don’t even no what to do with what we have right now. It’s a problem when we don’t have enough and it’s a problem when we have too much.  And if you ain’t giving God his 10% that’s an even BIGGER problem!

Point 5: Don’t be the “party” person all the time. Have enough sense to know when to leave a party/club at a decent hour and go home — not to another party/club.

Point 6: Get some rest for God’s sake. How can anyone expect to stay healthy and young-looking if they don’t get enough rest. When I don’t have plans on Saturday, I sleep until noon.  And drink plenty of water — alcohol doesn’t have enough in it to qualify as a typical 8 oz glass.

Point 7: This is the only life YOU get.  Blaming others for where you are right now is a waste of time — what “You” gone do about it now? Who doesn’t have regrets? Who doesn’t wish they hadn’t listen to somebody else tell them what was “best” for them? Take responsibility for your own actions and grow up and move on.  Everyone else is.

Point 8: If your intuition is telling you this ain’t right — than forget what somebody else “thinks” you should do or feel is the “right” thing to do. “Bust a move” (okay that really is ol school) in another direction. I never could understand how somebody else thinks they know what’s best for me. All these little “gods” running around here with the answer to “Your” life. How much sense does that make?

Point 9:  Learn from other folks’ mistakes and accomplishments. Most of them write books about it — go read one.

Point 10:  What I learned when I turned 40 …with age comes maturity and little to no patience for bull crap — get to the point and get there quickly. For the first time in life, you realize how fast it’s going. You don’t want no mess, don’t need no mess, and won’t tolerate no mess.  If you can’t add to my life at this point, then kindly get out-of-the-way.

PEACE!
